Lovely, lovely photos. Was the sunset in "Milky" almost gone? I'm thinking getting the stars in AND the sunset- the latter would have to have been nearly as dim as the former.
And, in the photos of the redwoods under starry skies- how did you illuminate them? A flash while in bulb?
it was at the very end of astronomical twilight, i believe--but it was also a new moon and so even the light pollution from the valley far in the distance (we're looking SW in the image) would contribute. it's always amazing just how far away the effect of light pollution can reach.
