yep. 60cm protovelo bombadil. we've dimpled the rear chainstays to give room for 2.25 smart sams with plenty of room for a broken spoke.

on this trip i used a sam up front with a big ben in the back. it provided a good all round mix for dirt riding--the sams are a bit more flat prone in my experience, so i went with a bomber tire that wouldn't slow me down as much in the back. i brought a spare supreme, just in case, but which i used to my advantage to replace the knobby up front when i finally got on the 1 north of fort bragg.
