the milky way was out (summer!), but the lens i brought wasn't quite fast enough--you can make out the hourglass nebula (click on the photo and you'll see notable objects tagged in flickr).

rode down through the clouds...

after descending diablo, I commuted through west contra costa, redwood park, and finally down 38th ave to my desk in fruitvale.

where exactly is this in mt diablo? its beautiful :)
pull out your topo and you'll find lots of great spots above about 2500 ft, which is usually high enough to get above the fog from my experience. sorry i can't say more than that, i don't publish detailed locations for lots of reasons.
