the last descent, dropping onto hwy 1 before the legget climb. the pavement made the day easy and i was far south of ft bragg before i knew it. i caught a ride home from there (thanks jesse), but you could take transit out of ft bragg or the amtrak from laytonville.
ran into friend ginger after bouncing out of the mountains yesterday, and then spent the afternoon taking it easy and crossing the lowlands. smoke was pouring out of the mountains from the fire which ended my passage through the marble mountains.
spent a bit of time chatting with the guy manning the fire observation tower before taking his recommended line through some private logging territory.
